Jamaicans through to men’s sprint hurdles semifinals

All three Jamaican competitors safely navigated their heats in the men's 110-metre hurdles at the Tokyo World Athletics Championships as Orlando Bennett, Tyler Mason and Demario Prince booked their spots in the semifinals.

Mason was fastest qualifier from the night as he led a strong field in heat five to stop the clock in a season's best 13.17 seconds.

Bennett was also in fine form as he took heat three in 13.20s, and will advance as the second-fastest qualifier on the night.

Prince had a trickier time navigating heat four, as he clipped the first hurdle and suffered a slow start.

He recovered quickly however, and snagged the final qualification spot in 13.31s to advance to the next round.

The semifinals are set for September 16 at 6:40 a.m. Jamaica time.
